Project Overview
ConnectDist is a mobile app connecting distributors with neighbourhood shops, simplifying orders and inventory management, empowering over 100 local businesses through intuitive design and smart technology.
Project Description
My research targeted small-time distributors and local shops in London, Ontario, to develop a mobile app addressing critical distribution challenges. Through targeted surveys, in-depth interviews, and competitive analysis, we mapped user pain points in ordering, inventory management, and communication processes.
The research focused on understanding operational inefficiencies and validating potential app features. By directly engaging with distributors and shop owners, we gathered nuanced insights to inform a user-centric design strategy.

Problem Statement
Distributors often face challenges with overstocking, high delivery costs, and payment delays. Store owners may struggle to find reliable suppliers and may experience inconsistent product availability.
Solution
ConnectDist simplifies local commerce by connecting distributors and shops through an intuitive mobile platform. The app streamlines ordering, provides real-time inventory tracking, and enables transparent communication, transforming traditional distribution processes for small businesses.
Process
For ConnectDist, my design process centred on understanding the challenges faced by small distributors and local shops in London, Ontario. I conducted user research, including interviews, identifying pain points in ordering, inventory, and communication. This research informed our user flows, wireframes, and UI design, prioritizing simplicity and efficiency. I iterated through several prototypes. The final design emphasizes seamless connectivity, transparent information, and an intuitive interface, empowering local businesses to thrive. Our focus remained on delivering tangible value through human-centred design.
